Our 8th Royal Ascot Race Day took place on Saturday 23rd June at Elea Golf Club. The whole terrace area was transformed for a day at the races and race goers were greeted with a Pimms and the sounds of the saxaphone. The charity tote on behalf of Cancer Patients Support Group and Riding for the Disabled in Cyprus opened shortly afterwards and guests were able to have a flutter throughout the day while watching the live racing from Ascot.
A fabulous lunch was served, fitting for a day at the races and the corks were popping in true Ascot style. Everyone dressed for the occasion and there were some amazing outfits, hats and fascinators. A charity raffle took place with some fabulous prizes which coupled with the charity tote raised 2134€
This year was our biggest Ascot Day and we would like to thank everyone who supported the event, Blevins Franks for being our Race sponsor and to all the companies who donated fabulous prizes for such a worthy cause, look forward to seeing everyone again next year’.
The Kamares Festival which took place on the 19th May raised 1686€ for local charities. The Cancer Patients Support Group, Friends Hospice , St Michaels Hospice, Inner Wheel Group and Riding for the Disabled Cyprus all had stands raising money with their fairground style games. The fair was a Royal occasion with visitors being able to watch the Royal Wedding as well as the variety of entertainment on offer.
It was so good to see so many people enjoying the day, the wide variety of arts and crafts and the excellent entertainment made a great atmosphere. The corks were also popping to toast the happy couple and lots of money raised for local charities which was fantastic’
A beautiful day for the Elé
a Christmas Fair on Sunday with lots of beautiful stalls, excellent entertainment and festival food.
It was a fabulous atmosphere with lots of visitors and so good to raise money for both the Friends Hospice and CPSG.
The annual Christmas Bazaar held on Saturday 18th November at Kamares Club, Tala raised valuable funds for the CPSG (€700) , The Royal British Legion (€220) and Tala Cat Monastry (€305).
The event with 60 different arts and crafts stalls, entertainment throughout the day was a great success.
